Stone Park Cafe

We went to Stone Park for dinner last night; it was our second visit after an excellent meal soon after they opened. This time, things weren't so smooth. While enjoying our drinks, a big roach crawled along the back of the banquette, right behind my aunt (who has a major roach phobia) and settled down in the crack between the cushions. Our waiter was also afraid and went into the kitchen to retrieve another server, who squashed it in a napkin, using my aunt's knife to get it out. The knife was placed back on the table after he did his business and wasn't replaced.

Nothing more was said of the roach incident (other than a not-very-subtle request that we call it a "waterbug") and there was no reflection of this on our bill. I think it was handled pretty horribly and was surprised that no one acknowledged the roach or comped us anything in return.

To top it off, my husband got a raging case of food poisoning last night. He's certain it was from the grilled octopus which he described as "gamy".
