Porchetta

After reading Andrea Strong's stark-raving-mad-for-it review of this place, I thought it was going to be great. And judging from the crowd that came in around 8PM tonight, they thought so too. The brussel sprouts were well-braised, and I enjoyed the poached egg and pieces of pork that accompanied it. The sunchoke soup that Strong raves about was well done, but nothing exciting. But my entree—the tilefish with figs and cipollini in a pignoli broth—was bland. My bf ordered the house special, the porchetta, and found it a delicious piece of pork, but the accompanying tomatoes and mint leaves on top clashed with the meat. Finally, the Nutella-filled chocolate torta had such a strong burnt taste that it overwhelmed any chocolate or hazelnut flavor the dish was supposed to have. Oh well. Back to Chestnut.
