The atmosphere was nice and the appetizers were tasty. The chips were some of the thickest I've ever eaten and were very crunchy.

The sangria was well done with actual fruit in it, which is hard to find.

I ordered the special enchilada with molé sauce. It was very flavorful, but more spicy than I expected it to be.

I would eat there again, but would probably try a different dish.

I would've given Bonita a "Like it" because the food was very good but they ran out of two of the things I ordered so that put a damper on the experience. To make matters worse the large group right next to us were eating corn on the cob and guac! The two things I tried to order, presumably they had snatched the last of both...

Anyway, the enchiladas were pretty good and the chips that come with the salsa (or the guac if you're lucky enough to get some)  are made on the premises and arrive at your table hot! Yum.

If you wait long enough eventually you'll get hungry enough to eat everything. We didn't arrive soon enough I suppose and there were allot of things that they were out of once we got to order. The fish taco I got was really good and the chips and salsa were tasty. If it hadn't been for the long wait I would have been perfectly content.
The sangria was really good though and I give it Like it for that alone.

Bonita has specialties that I love. The sangria is rich and dense and not too sweet. Salads are generously sized and packed with nuggety bits like beets, carrots and pumpkin seeds, and a delicately applied lime vinaigrette. Brunch options are great (yum, huevos mexicanos) and on the cheaper end.

Fish tacos are fine, but it's hard for me to spend $7 on two fish tacos when I've had better ones for 99¢. Oh well. I don't think burritos are really their specialty. They're not as flavourful as some other items, and they're large and cube-like and therefore chained to the plate (I prefer to hold my burrito). If I want to order a tortilla item that's not tacos, i'd probably go with their chicken enchiladas. The only problem: no rice and beans on the side.

warning: they don't have a liquor license (but the new location in ft. greene does), so margaritas are made w/ white wine. get the sangria, it's great.
