I had delivery from Beet and was neither pleasantly surprised nor disappointed. I had the chicken pad thai (cliche, I know...) and split fried spring rolls, calamari, and plum glazed wings or whatever they're called. The pad thai was decent but the appetizers were pretty disappointing. The spring roll was nothing special, the calamari was good but had suffered at the hands of traveling many blocks to my apartment, and the wings were pretty gross. They also forgot to send us our drinks. It seems a bit unfair to review a restaurant based only on a delivery experience but I've had many great delivery experiences in NYC so I'm still going to hand Beet an "Ok." If I'm ever in the area I'll stop by and try it again but I think I'm done with their delivery services.

I have tried every thai place on 5th and 7th. This is the best one. Enjoy!
Nothing unusual on the menu. Nothing bad.

Good Thai food, good prices, respectable trendiness (though the forced modernity and thumping techno seem unnecessary), fair service by cultural standards, and a bizzare menu with some French-Thai fusion dishes that cost as much as comparable dishes at top restaurants but fail to match that level of mastery.  Go simple and you'll be happy, including at check-time.  The crisp, fresh salad rolls with mint are a must.  The curries are better than standard if not quite inspired.  Shrimp is a surpisingly affordable option and they will usually be large, plentiful, tasty, and not overcooked.  The Thai Iced Tea is really good.  Don't think you're going out to a "nice dinner."  Keep your expectations in check and you'll have a good spot to satisfy your hankering for Thai food without needing the G train.

A solid place--my top Thai choice in the neighborhood (though there's definitely room for growth). The fresh salad roll appetizer has mint leaves that make it taste extra fresh and good. The noodle dishes are okay (spicy broad noodle is the best of the bunch), but I've had better luck with their curries. I ask them to steam rather then fry the tofu (it's more healthful and I prefer the taste and consistency), and they are always accomodating. When I order the golden curry noodle I ask them not to include the crispy noodles (they pile on far too many; the dish also includes soft egg noodles). Perhaps this makes me high-maitenance.
