Worst meal ever in NYC - only outdone by the horrendously bad service. Will never, ever, ever, ever, ever go back. Be advised - avoid!!!!

Chocolate bread in bread basket=most delicious bread ever. Unluckily, I only got it the first time I went here and never again. Because of the chocolate bread, I think I had a very high opinion of this place after my first visit. It's gone down slightly since then. They serve a very solid brunch, but nothing too spectacular. Never been for anything other than brunch.

You might expect a vegetarian to avoid a restaurant marked grill, but 12th street is a great spot for both dinner and brunch (and for both veggies and meaties). I have been there many times in the past four years and never been disappointed. If you go for dinner, try the wild mushroom and polenta appetizer. Yum. As Ben notes below, brunch is a good deal and you almost never have to wait to be seated.

12th Street Bar and Grill has a great brunch and usually isn't very busy. The last couple times I've tried to go to Dizzy's for brunch it's been so busy that we always just end up here which is fine with me. The bread basket they give you is always full of surprises and if the chocolate bread is in there, you're in for a treat.
