They have Trivial Pursuit, need I say more? Yes? Okay, well... they have good coffee and also serve wine and chocolates. A great place to sit around and do nothing for a couple hours.

Good coffee. Fast, free internet connection. Truly delicious biscuits and scones that are actually soft and fresh-baked and buttery (I'd nearly forgotten why people even bother eating scones, since in most coffee shops they are bland, days-old rocks). And some nice wines at night. Unfortunately, the chocolate is nothing special -- though I am quite partial to the tragically overpriced "I like it spicy" bar. You can't win 'em all, I guess.

This place is my temple. I go there almost every weekend with my laptop to do some work. Some of the greatest grubsnitch features were dreamed of or made at cocoa bar. They have free wifi and the staff is super friendly...

I go here most mornings to get some writing done. Matthew the barista is a gent, and chats about Emerson while steaming milk. The coffee of the day is always good -- usually something like an Organic Brazil. And their scones: my lord. The chocolate-cherry one is divine, but avoid the blueberry oatmeal, as it isn't nearly as good it should be. Their HVAC system is a little quirky and the coffee tends to get cold if you get the ceramic mug (as you should, green citizen that you are) and sit for too long nursing it; so when you order your latte ask them to get the thing fixed. And to get some new CDs, as their playlist is getting a little worn out. I too love the "The Rain King" by the Counting Crows, but it begins to grate after a while. The wine list looks good, but cher. And those chocolates, but you'll have to give those a whirl for yourself, as I've yet to indulge.

Cute garden in the back, and fewer babies around than in the tea lounge, so this is a nice place to meet friends. I like to order the teas, and many of the cakes are a yummy treat to split. I have ordered the hot chocolate three times and won't ever order it again because each time it was too thin. Free wi-fi.

The free wi-fi is great, and the grown-up atmosphere makes it easy to get work done. I agree that the staff is really friendly. And I actually like their hot chocolate, which is more American-style (as opposed to the syruppy gloop Jahola likes). That being said--the pastries are REALLY DRY and not good (and way overpriced), the chocolates and truffles also suck, and the sole decaf tea isn't very good either. The savory offerings are better, but they only have one option at a time, which is tough if you're hoping to, say, sit there all day and write grad-school applications. Although they have no control over the AC (it's a building-wide system), it's arctic. If you need a place to work it's perfect, but for chocolately goodness head over to the far superior Chocolate Room on 5th.
